Personal data protection

The Agence Française de Développement (AFD), a public and solidarity-based development bank, processes personal data as part of its activities. The same goes for the other entities of the AFD group, whether it is PROPARCO, EXPERTISE FRANCE, FISEA, or SOGEFOM.

We give the utmost importance to the protection and confidentiality of your personal data.

The purpose of this information is to help you understand how we process your personal data, particularly in the context of this Campus group AFD portal.

This information concerns the processing of personal data carried out under the responsibility of one of the entities belonging to the AFD group, as mentioned above.

AFD processes personal data only for specific purposes. In order to ensure greater transparency, we share a list of the purposes of the main processing operations that may concern you as well as their respective foundations and the categories of data collected.

1. How long do we keep your data?
We have defined and put in place specific rules regarding the retention of your personal data. To define such period, we have taken into account the different purposes for which the data is collected, the applicable legal and regulatory obligations, as well as sectorial best practices. Such retention periods do not exceed what is necessary to accomplish the processing operation.

2. Who has access to your data?

Your data is only accessed by AFD employees that need access to carry out their tasks.

The data collected may be communicated as required to third parties (partners, subcontractors and AFD’s service providers). These information sharing activities are carried out only to the extent necessary to perform the tasks we entrust to these third parties.

Where the nature of the operation carried out allows it, the data is subject to prior anonymization before being communicated.

Furthermore, in order to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, we may be required to disclose personal information to administrative or judicial authorities upon written request, motivated by the legislative texts on which the right of communication is based.

3. Our engagements
Our objective is to always keep your personal data in a secured way, and only for specific purposes and for the necessary time period. In this regard, we have adopted appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures to prevent any alteration, modification or illicit access to your personal data.

The AFD does not commercialize personal data collected in the context of its activities.

The AFD group is subject to the same rules regarding confidentiality and protection of personal data. For more information regarding our group engagements, please see the AFD Data Protection Policy.

In the event of transfer of personal data to a country that has not been recognized by the European Commission as assuring an adequate protection for personal data, we put in place appropriate frameworks to guarantee the protection of your personal data (ex. binding corporate rules or standard contractual clauses). For more information on the transfers of personal data you may contact the AFD Data Protection Officer at the address indicated under the section “Your rights”.

4. Your rights
In compliance with the French data protection act (loi informatique et libertes n°78-17 du 06 janvier 1978) and the European Regulation 2016/679, you may, at any time, exercise your right to access, rectify, erase limit and object to the processing of your personal data.
